Victims of Internet fraud are increasing, and the research shows many of them are fraud related to e-commerce. Last year only $265 million was lost. Sophisticated computer fraud schemes continue to flourish as financial data migrates to the Internet. Businesses and the home computer users need to be aware of these schemes and employ sound security procedures.
Major cities in the U.S. are the targets by hackers it seems. California, New York, Texas, Florida, Washington or the District of Columbia are the worst states in the nation. Nearly two thirds of the fraudsters resided in the U.S.
